John Lewis & Partners launched their first Christmas advert back in 2007 and since then they've grown in to something spectacular with some lasting minutes. In recent years they're even looking more like a Hollywood movie than an advertisement. Got an hour free? We're listing the John Lewis Christmas TV ad from 2007 right up until now below for your viewing pleasure.

Side note: As you watch them develop through years you may need a box of tissues at the ready - your eyes are going to need them.

2022 - The Beginner

2022 saw the launch of many brilliant Christmas ads, but John Lewis's was a little different. Set to a slow cover version of Blink 182 - All The Small Things, it shows a man starting out learning to skateboard and the challanges he faces. At the end it highlights the issues surrounding children in care delivering a heartfelt message.

2023 - Snapper: The Perfect Tree

Follows a young boy, who is trying to find the perfect Christmas tree for his family. Alongside him is a lovable and quirky toy dinosaur named "Snapper," who becomes his loyal companion during the quest. The advert captures the boy's journey and the bond that forms between him and Snapper as they search for the ideal tree to make Christmas special.

In typical John Lewis style, the advert emphasizes themes of family, togetherness, and holiday magic, while evoking emotions through its gentle storytelling and meaningful connections.

2024 – Growing Up

The 2024 John Lewis Christmas advert tells the heartfelt story of a teenage girl who begins to feel that the magic of Christmas has faded as she grows older. Through a series of nostalgic moments — from decorating the tree with her family to finding her old childhood Christmas box — she rediscovers the joy she thought she’d outgrown.

As the advert unfolds, we see her reconnect with the traditions that once meant so much to her, sharing them with her little brother and reigniting that familiar spark of wonder. The film beautifully blends scenes of quiet reflection with heartwarming family moments, reminding viewers that the magic of Christmas never truly disappears — it just changes as we do.

In true John Lewis fashion, the advert combines touching storytelling, emotional depth, and a tender soundtrack to deliver a message about love, nostalgia, and the enduring spirit of Christmas.

2025 - Where Love Lives

John Lewis has done it again — and yes, it’s another emotional masterpiece. The 2025 Christmas ad, “Where Love Lives,” swaps whimsical characters for something more grounded: the touching bond between a father and son. Set to a stunning reimagining of Alison Limerick’s 90s hit, the film perfectly blends nostalgia with heart.

It’s simple, beautifully shot, and achingly relatable — a quiet reminder that love isn’t always said out loud, but felt through the smallest gestures. With its tender storytelling and tear-jerking ending, “Where Love Lives” captures exactly what John Lewis does best: making Christmas feel human.
