Tesco has officially unveiled its Christmas advert for 2026, and this year's festive film is all about friendship, kindness and reconnecting with the people who matter most. 🎄❤️
Released on 1 November, the supermarket's brand-new advert, titled The Wrong Address, stars comedians and actresses Roisin Conaty and Anna Maxwell Martin in a touching Christmas adventure that begins with a very relatable mistake.
And with a little humour, a nostalgic soundtrack and an emotional reunion, Tesco might just have delivered one of this year's most heartwarming Christmas adverts!
A Christmas Delivery That Goes Very Wrong!
We've all experienced a little Christmas chaos, but imagine accidentally sending your entire festive food shop to the wrong address!
That's exactly what happens to Lizzie, played by Anna Maxwell Martin, when she discovers her big Christmas delivery has been sent to her old home, hundreds of miles away.
And to make matters worse, it's Christmas Eve!
With Christmas dinner suddenly looking rather uncertain, Tesco delivery driver Polly, played by Roisin Conaty, offers to help save the day.
But there's a twist.
Polly and Lizzie aren't complete strangers. They're actually old school friends who haven't seen each other for years!
What begins as a simple plan to meet halfway and rescue the Christmas shopping soon turns into an unexpected road trip filled with memories, laughter and a few emotional moments.
As the two women spend time together, they begin to revisit their shared past and the friendship they once had.
And perhaps the most important Christmas delivery of all isn't the food, but the chance to reconnect.
A Familiar Song Adds to the Christmas Magic
Helping bring the story to life is The Police's classic hit Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.
It's a wonderfully nostalgic soundtrack for a film that celebrates old friendships and the unexpected moments that can make Christmas so special.
The three-minute advert combines humour with a touching message about forgiveness, kindness and second chances.
Because while we all want Christmas dinner to go perfectly, sometimes it's the people around the table who matter far more than what's on it.
Tesco Brings Some Familiar Faces to Christmas
This year, Tesco has brought in two familiar television stars to tell its festive story.
Roisin Conaty is known for her comedy performances, including GameFace and After Life, while Anna Maxwell Martin has appeared in popular series including Motherland and Line of Duty.
Their performances help make the friendship between Polly and Lizzie feel believable, with just the right mixture of awkwardness, humour and warmth.
It's a slightly different approach from the magical creatures and spectacular fantasy worlds we've seen in some other Christmas adverts, but sometimes a simple, relatable story can be just as effective.
Could Tesco Have One of the Most Emotional Christmas Adverts of 2026?
With Christmas advert season officially underway, supermarkets are already competing to win over our festive hearts.
Sainsbury's has brought back the BFG for another magical adventure, while Tesco has chosen something a little more down-to-earth.
Rather than focusing on fantasy, The Wrong Address reminds us how easily we can lose touch with people over the years, and how Christmas can sometimes bring us back together.
It's a lovely message, particularly at a time of year when so many of us find ourselves thinking about old friends, family and treasured memories.
And while we'll always love a Christmas advert filled with snow, Santa and festive sparkle, there's definitely something special about one that makes us appreciate the people in our lives.
