Fans of the blood-soaked Christmas hit Violent Night have finally been given their first look at the highly anticipated sequel – and it looks even bigger, louder and more festive than before.
The first trailer for Violent Night 2 has officially been released, confirming that David Harbour is returning as everyone's favourite axe-wielding Santa Claus. But this time, he's not fighting alone. The biggest surprise from the trailer is the reveal of Kristen Bell as Mrs. Claus, who looks more than ready to join the festive carnage.

What Is Violent Night 2 About?
While many story details are still being kept under wraps, the trailer gives fans a glimpse of what's to come.
Santa finds himself stranded in a rundown New Jersey shopping mall after becoming separated from the North Pole. Faced with a ruthless crime boss and an army of dangerous enemies, he once again has to rely on his unique set of festive combat skills to save the day.
Before long, Mrs. Claus arrives to help even the odds, setting the stage for an action-filled Christmas adventure packed with brutal fight scenes, dark humour and plenty of festive surprises.
Mrs. Claus Means Business
One of the biggest talking points from the trailer is Kristen Bell's debut as Mrs. Claus.
Far from the traditional warm-and-gentle version of Santa's wife, this Mrs. Claus appears every bit as capable of taking down villains herself. The trailer hints that she'll be fighting alongside Santa, creating an action-packed festive duo that fans never expected.
It's a fresh twist on a character usually seen behind the scenes, and judging by the early footage, she'll play a major role in the sequel's explosive story.
Returning Cast and Crew
David Harbour reprises his role as Santa, with Tommy Wirkola returning to direct the sequel.
Joining Harbour and Kristen Bell is a strong supporting cast including Daniela Melchior, Jared Harris, Joe Pantoliano, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) and Andrew Bachelor.
The sequel promises to build on the Christmas mythology introduced in the original film while delivering even bigger action sequences and plenty of over-the-top festive fun.
When Is Violent Night 2 Released?
Violent Night 2 is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 4 December 2026, making it one of the biggest Christmas movie releases of the festive season.
With its early December release, it looks perfectly placed to become one of this year's must-watch festive films for anyone who enjoys their Christmas with a little more action than usual.
Could It Be Even Better Than the Original?
When Violent Night first hit cinemas in 2022, it surprised audiences by mixing outrageous action with genuine Christmas spirit, quickly earning cult-classic status among festive movie fans.
If the first trailer is anything to go by, the sequel is doubling down on everything that made the original so popular. Bigger battles, bigger laughs, new characters and an expanded Christmas world all suggest Violent Night 2 could be one of the standout festive films of 2026.
Whether you're a fan of Christmas movies, action films or simply love seeing Santa take on the bad guys, this is one sequel that's already looking well worth the wait.
